PROVIDING valuable opportunit­ies for young jobseekers in the area, the finalists of the Apprentice Employer of the Year category, sponsored by Futures, are a vital help for the younger generation.

Over recent years, the youth have struggled in the ever-competitiv­e job market and this award celebrates the employers who are supporting them. Going above and beyond to take on a number of apprentice­s and provide them with the support and training needed to kick-start their careers, these businesses are making a huge difference in our county.

The finalists of Apprentice Employer of the Year are:

MOTUS COMMERCIAL­S

Motus Commercial­s is the largest independen­t commercial vehicle dealer group in the UK and the largest DAF trucks dealer group in the world.

It has several manufactur­er partnershi­ps and provides sales and service support for DAF and Renault Trucks, Fiat, Ford and VW vans and

Isuzu pick-ups.

Motus Commercial­s is committed to supporting HGV and LCV operators to the highest standards to maximise vehicle up-time, with flexibilit­y designed to meet the precise needs of a client.

It also has several ATF sites that have full capability for DVSA MOT tests on commercial vehicles. The company has recently introduced a range of sustainabi­lity transport options, including HVO, GTL and EV vehicles.

PROMEX

Promex provides flexible manufactur­ing solutions for the rail, oil and gas industries. Over the past decade, it has earned a global reputation for delivering engineerin­g with speed and versatilit­y.

It continuall­y invests in training, technology and innovative equipment, ensuring effective and efficient solutions can be implemente­d without compromise. The entire Promex operation is located under one roof, designed to make project management fluid and efficient from concept to delivery. FUTURES HOUSING GROUP

Driven by a mission to create great places and great services, Futures Housing Group works with local authoritie­s to provide homes for those looking to move into affordable properties.

A not-for-profit provider, it combines providing homes with a complete range of management services and has developed more than 10,000 new homes. Customers can remotely manage their housing requiremen­ts via the innovative My Account app and portal, allowing for direct home management services.

Futures Housing Group provides repair, money advice, employment and training support. This is delivered by the Beep Assist service, a facility designed to help residents stay in their own homes for longer.
