Buzzed Off

- Joe Coleman

What an interesting and wonderful life I lead

For whom the bell tolls it will, no doubt, toll for me

I have a relatively short life and am not much bigger than a large pea My new life’s reincarnate is one of a buzzing humble bumble bee

Up till now I’ve been various human beings and famous ones at that I have fallen (physically) from great heights; poisoned, hanged, stake burnt, drowned, hung, drawn and quartered and shot at

You name it and I’ve been there and it always ends in death

I’ve been a cowboy, English king, Russian sage, a president, and a musician, and always in violence is my fate met

But now of all the luck and for all about to see

I am a meaningful honey-making individual, stinging bumble bee It’s not so bad, after all as I go about my flight

I produce pollen by buzzing around flowers and plants

And not all afraid of those pesky busy ants Honey-making is my speciality, like most bees do

There are useless bees out there who are lazy and haven’t got a clue Yeah, not such a bad life after all, and I enjoy sucking the sap

Oh dear, oh no! I’ve flown into a greenhouse and reincarnation is going to begin again, I’ve landed on a Venus flytrap
