Body found in police search of city lake
POLICE trying to locate a missing man have found a body.
Officers from Derbyshire police, as well as firefighters and specialist water rescue teams had been searching the area around Allestree Lake for Zbig Korobowicz.
Police put an appeal out to find the 74-year-old on Saturday afternoon, but, on Sunday morning, they revealed a body had been found that was believed to be his.
Mr Korobowicz is believed to have left his home in Allestree at around midnight on Saturday.
A spokesperson for Derbyshire police said: “The body of what is believed to be missing man Zbig Korobowicz was found in Allestree on Saturday evening.
“Zbig’s family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time. Officers are preparing a file for the coroner and there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.”
