Tragic find in police hunt for missing Amy

DERBYSHIRE police have reported that they have found the body of a person in the Birch Vale area who they believe to be missing teenager Amy Hall.

Amy, 17, went missing from her home in Hayfield, at 1pm on Thursday.

Formal identifica­tion has yet to take place although police say the death is not believed to be suspicious. Specialist officers have informed Amy’s family.

A spokesman for Derbyshire Constabula­ry said at 11.10pm on Saturday: “The body of what is believed to be missing teenager Amy Hall has been found in the Birch Vale area, near New Mills.

“Amy’s family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time. Formal identifica­tion of the 17-year-old is yet to take place, officers are preparing a file for the coroner and there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstan­ces.”
