Road shut as car hits house

A DERBY road was closed last night after a car hit a house, sparking fears it may have damaged a gas main.

Police said Arleston Lane in Stenson Fields was closed after the incident.

Officers were on the scene, along with firefighter colleagues and warned the road could be closed for some time.

There were not believed to be any serious injuries. However, the car may have damaged a gas main and a cordon was in place.

Members of the public were being asked to avoid the area.
