Pedestrian badly hurt in collision

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Cromford which left a woman seriously injured.

Officers said the incident is thought to have involved a silver van, which is reported to have hit a pedestrian and a dog on The Hill just before 4pm yesterday.

The air ambulance was called and the female pedestrian was taken to hospital. The road was closed for an investigat­ion.

Police want to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time and saw the incident or may have dashcam or CCTV footage.

In particular, they are keen to trace the driver of a black pick-up type vehicle as they may have witnessed the incident.
