Hundreds of bikes and bikers wind up at Heage Windmill
HUGE numbers of motorcyclists made
Heage Windmill their destination at the weekend.
Having missed out on the bike day in 2020 due to Covid, this year it seemed that all the bikes in Derbyshire wanted to make up for this and it was estimated that at least 500 dropped in.
They were able to buy “someone else’s rubbish” at a very busy bric-abrac stall and a large number also enjoyed tours of the windmill.
The Best Bike of the Day was won by Terry Kendrew, from Barnsley, with his Ducati 900 Super Sport.
He was presented with the Dave Cleaver Memorial Trophy by Colin Clemens and Les Cross along with a Heage Windmill Certificate marking the success.
Lynn Allen, event organiser, said it was the most successful day the mill had experienced in more than 20 years.
