Offering massage on the NHS could reduce sick days by 1.76 million – saving the UK economy £10.5billion.

A report for the British Beauty Council found that massage could help alleviate certain mental health conditions, as well as easing pain associated with back and shoulder injuries, fibromyalgia, cancer symptoms and arthritis.

It also claims massage could reduce sick days related to menopause symptoms. Helena Grzesk, from the British Beauty Council, said it showed how the beauty industry can support the NHS and the economy.
