I A Rainbow
With careful hands
I pull down coloured strands From the heavens above
Red, yellow, blue, the colours I love Draped across the sky for all to see Encased in a spectrum, lucky old me
No earthly finery can compete With its presence
The time comes for me to go Seeing it to the close
As it fades away
My thoughts dwell on the past When people watched with awe As I bestrode the Earth
To every one’s delight
