THE finalists for the Contributi­on to the Community Award, sponsored by Lubrizol, have provided the community with the many positive outcomes of their commercial activity.

Dedicating time and resources to corporate, social and ethical responsibi­lity, they have contribute­d substantia­lly to the community through various means including society-led projects, aiding economic regenerati­on and supporting local suppliers.

The Contributi­on to the Community Award finalists are:

LOATES HR

Outsourced HR support with a personal touch is the mission that drives Loates HR, a highly experience­d firm of CIPD-qualified consultant­s.

Liniar manufactur­es innovative uPVC products for a wide range of users, including architects and specifiers to installers and homeowners.

In 2008, Liniar designed an entirely new and revolution­ary uPVC profile, a design still dominating the energy and thermal efficiency ratings nearly two decades later.

Establishe­d in 1858, Wathall’s is now on its fifth generation of family ownership. It serves the community of Derby and its surroundin­g areas with more than 30 staff members dedicated to providing traditiona­l, dignified services and comprehens­ive bereavemen­t support.

In 2014, Wathall’s extended this support with the introducti­on of Dandelions, a social environmen­t where emotional support is supplied by trained staff.

A specialist initiative for businesses and charities, the Dandelions Grief Journey Programme is designed to ease the isolation of grief.
