Make your own plant pot toadstool

-

If you’ve got some plant pots and saucers that have seen better days, upcycle them to make these cute garden ornaments. Acrylic paint is best for this project, as it is waterproof.

YOU WILL NEED

Terracotta (pottery) plant pot and saucer; acrylic paint; strong glue

METHOD

1. Before you start, look at fungi pictures in books and online for inspiration – there are plenty of species to choose from.

2. Wash your plant pot and saucer thoroughly and leave to dry.

3. Turn your plant pot and saucer upside down and paint them in your chosen colours. You might need to do a couple of coats as terracotta is absorbent and your paint will dry quickly.

4. When your base colours are dry, use a brush or sponge and dab on paint to add tone and texture to each surface.

5. Leave to dry.

6. Paint the inside of your pot and saucer and leave to dry.

7. Put a blob of strong

?? ?? glue on the top of your plant pot and position your saucer.
8. Once dry, you can find a good spot outside for your toadstool to sit.
9. Now all we need is a passing toad…
