-

RU Paul’s Drag Race UK contestant, Cheryl Hole will be coming to Derby next week as part of the University of Derby’s Freshers Week.

Derby University students will return to face-to-face lectures next week for the first time since the UK went into lockdown in March last year. The Freshers Quiz is set to take place at the university’s Freshers Village from 7pm until 11pm on Monday, September 20 and will feature a performance from “the dancing diva of Essex”.

Cheryl Hole, whose name is inspired by Girls Aloud singer, Cheryl, came fourth on the first season of BBC Three’s Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK in 2019.

The reality show, where drag queens from across the UK compete to be crowned its “next drag superstar”, is about to return to screens for its third season next Wednesday.

The event is being hosted by Derbyshire LGBT+ and Derby Museums and a small number of tickets will be open to non-students for purchase.
