Former video may get new life as a café

-

A SHOP on the high street in a Derbyshire village that has sat empty since Blockbuster video closed down nearly a decade ago could get a new lease of life.

A planning application has been made to Bolsover District Council asking for permission for 111 High Street, in Tibshelf, to be turned into a café.

The applicant, whose address is listed as Staveley, Chesterfield, is wanting to change the use of the shop so it can be used to serve hot food under the name of ‘The Vintage Coffee Shop’.

Floor plans submitted as part of the application show that the front of the unit’s ground floor will be used as a place for people to eat and drink while about half way along the floor will be an area for people to place their orders and for the food to be cooked and prepared.

At the rear of the ground floor will be a store room, hall and stairs leading up to the second level.

The former shop has sat empty in Tibshelf’s High Street since 2013.
