COMMON BUZZARD

This is the most frequently seen large bird of prey in the UK. Often several may be seen together, circling high overhead with their shortish tails fanned out. Most common buzzards are mid-brown, but some are much darker and others paler. In some areas you may see them alongside red kites, which are more rufous with long, forked tails.
