Chatsworth gets ready for Magic of Christmas

-

ONE of the highlights of the festive season is back, and is celebrating its 20th year of marking Christmas, as Chatsworth gets ready to open in November.

The Magic of Christmas will see the estate looking back on two decades of the festive season since the house opened to the public in 2001.

Since then, the way Chatsworth has marked Christmas has changed, grown and developed .

This year the festive opening of the house and gardens runs from Saturday, November 6, to Sunday, January 9, 2022.

This year’s standout feature will be the snow installation in the Inner Court. The estate also says a newly-installed lamp post will bring to mind the snowy scenes from Narnia. Other rooms on the Christmas route will have a nod to seasons past from the traditions of the Victorian era along with the world of Charles Dickens, to the imaginary worlds of Mr Toad and Alice in Wonderland.

The estate said: “Following its successful introduction last year, there will once again be a festive light installation in the garden.”
