Emissions ‘at 2019 levels’

FOSSIL fuel emissions have bounced back after the pandemic, leaving the world far off course to tackle climate change, the United Nations has warned. A new report from UN agencies warns global emissions are back to the same levels as in 2019, after a drop in 2020 due to Covid-19 lockdowns.
