Top spot taken by Stones

TOP place went to Mr and Mrs D Stone in the latest Holbrook race as Burton & South Derbyshire Federation travelled to Honiton.

Pigeons were liberated at 10am in a south-west wind and the Stones led the way for Holbrook with a b/w/f cock doing 1607 yards per minute to finish ahead of 85 birds.

Kevin Mathews was second with a dark cock doing 1590, while B & S Stone were third with a dk/pied cock registerin­g 1572.

Trevor Jennings was fourth with a b/w/f hen recording 1562.

In the Osmaston Park Homing Society race, the Shenton Brothers claimed the top two positions.

Their winner was a slatey hen doing 1593 followed by a cheq hen in 1592.

S & H W Hall took third and fourth with a blue cock doing 1591 followed by a b/pied hen registerin­g 1568.

In the Etwall & District Flying Club race, A Peach and son took three of the first four positions.

Their winner was a cheq hen registerin­g 1558 followed by a grizzle hen doing 1542 and a blue cock in 1531.

Steve Billings was third with a blue hen registerin­g 1533.
