Appeal after van is used in ATM ram-raid
A POLICE investigation is under way after a van was used to raid an ATM at a petrol station.
Officers are investigating an incident in Station Road, Castle Donington, which took place in the very early hours of Wednesday.
Police say an ATM was struck by a Ford Transit van and cash taken by the occupants of the vehicle.
Leicestershire Police were called to the incident, which took place at around 12.45am, and found the grey van had been left behind.
However, the suspects were not at the scene and no arrests have been made at this time.
Detective Sergeant Douglas Simpson, from the Complex Investigation Team at Leicestershire Police, said he hopes more footage of the incident will come to light.
“Our investigation is very much in its early stages and enquiries into the incident are continuing,” he said.
“However, I would ask that anyone with information – or dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident – comes forward. Any details you’re able to provide could help.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 21*535522.
