Work on expanded showroom revs up

A VAST new car showroom is beginning to take shape on a busy Derby road.

When finished, Mansfield Road will boast a multi-million-pound Stratstone BMW complex.

The site is located opposite the Meteor Retail Centre and near Breadsall Hill Top.

The former Stratstone BMW Derby building at the site was demolished after Derby City Council gave the firm the goahead to transform its showroom facilities back in March.

In its place will be a new and expanded building, which will enable Stratstone BMW Derby to bring its BMW and Mini brands to one dedicated site.

Work on the Mansfield Road site is expected to be completed by the end of the year, the company said earlier this year.

It added then: “The 50,000sq ft site has been designed to enhance the customer experience by bringing both brands under one roof. Making it easier for customers to explore, purchase and service their new BMW or Mini.

“Customers will benefit from a bright and modern showroom space, which will also include BMW and BMWi zones, allowing them to explore the performance and electric vehicle ranges alongside knowledgeable product specialists.”

During the work Stratstone BMW Derby has moved to a temporary location in Chequers Road.
