470 MORE CASES IN COUNTY

A FURTHER 470 cases of coronaviru­s have been reported across Derbyshire.

Official figures published yesterday reveal that there were 122 positive tests in Derby in the latest 24-hour reporting period, plus 348 across the wider Derbyshire area.

It means there have now been a total of 115,257 confirmed cases of the virus across Derby and Derbyshire since the start of the pandemic.

The latest update showed that the biggest increase outside of Derby was in South Derbyshire, where 60 positive tests were returned.

The lowest number of new cases was in Bolsover, with 26.

A further 56 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Sunday, bringing the UK total to 135,203.

As of 9am on Sunday, there had been a further 29,612 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said.
