Steamy windows antics earn police rebuke for marina pair
A COURTING couple who were caught on the floor of their vehicle by police at a Derbyshire marina have been told not to return to the area.
The “red-faced” pair were found by officers from the Etwall, Hatton and
Hilton Police Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) during a latenight patrol at Mercia Marina.
Police ordered the couple to leave the area and not return, arguing that it is often used by young families and homeowners and was not a suitable location for “anti-social behaviour”.
A spokesperson for the SNT said: “To the courting couple who descended on a private car park at Mercia Marina, near Findern, in a vehicle with steamy windows and used wet wipes outside the driver’s door – what were you thinking?
“This part of the marina is used by homeowners and families to walk and relax and it is not an appropriate location for littering and other after-dark anti-social behaviour.
“The red-faced couple were ordered to leave the location and not return. If we see them again they can expect to receive community protection notice warnings.”
