Overnight closures for A38 repairs

-

MORE overnight closures are planned for the A38 near Burton over the next two weeks.

Highways England is warning drivers in advance of planned work on the major carriageway between Alrewas and Barton under Needwood to allow them to plan ahead when it comes to journeys

From last night, the southbound carriageway will be closed between the Barton Turns junction and Alrewas junction, including the slip roads from 8pm to 6am for the remainder of the week to allow for barrier and carriageway repairs to be carried out.

Next week the roadworks will continue with the southbound A38 Alrewas exit slip closed from Monday to Friday, September 27, to October 1. It will be closed from 10pm to 6am on the Monday and then from 8pm to 6am for the rest of the week for barrier and carriageway repairs to be carried out.

On the northbound carriageway, the route will be closed between Cappers Lane to Wood End Lane, including the Streethay exit slip road, from 8pm to 5.30am.

A spokesman said: “This week we are starting our work on barrier and carriageway repairs.”
