Head should go over unbalanced restriction

-

SO facial hair is not allowed at St Benedict Catholic Academy. Head teacher Kevin Gritton says it is not allowed unless it is required for religious reasons, so what he is saying is that white Christian males cannot have facial hair but Muslims, Sikhs, Hindus and any other religious groups can.

He is reminded that Jesus had facial hair, and was he not a Christian? As I see it what is good for the goose is good for the gander; if ethnic minorities are allowed to have facial hair so should other groups otherwise ban all groups or none at all.

Facial hair does not affect their learning and his comment about some pupils feeling intimidated by those with facial hair does not wash if they are allowing other religious groups to have facial hair.

The man is in the wrong job – he should resign forthwith.
