Sunnyhill scorcher as they score 12

MIDLANDS Regional Alliance Premier Division front-runners FC Sunnyhill maintained their unbeaten record in emphatic fashion, writes Dan Bishop.

The trip to Rowsley ’86 Reserves could have been a potential banana skin but they returned with three points in the bag after a resounding 12-2 victory.

Tom Sheffield and Kay Anderson scored four goals apiece for Sunnyhill and were joined on the scoresheet by Jay Bruce (2), Brooklyn Bruce and Panganayi Mugadza. Jacob Brown and Daniel Hurley scored for the hosts.

Unbeaten Mayfield lead the chasing pack after winning 3-2 away against Little Eaton.

Shane Nicholls and Paul Quinonez were on target for Little Eaton but Harry Breeze, Connor Mason and Paul Williams secured victory for the visitors.

Goals from Owen Biddle (2), Luke Morton and Jordan Turek gave third-placed Shirebrook Rangers a 4-1 win away against Ashbourne Reserves, while the remaining Premier Division fixture saw Tibshelf triumph at home against Sleetmoor United with Steve Webster, Nathan Hadley, Josh Hamson and George Culley scoring. Oliver Hill replied for the visitors.

Newhall United are top of Division One with a 100% record after a 7-0 home win over Mickleover RBL Reserves.

Callum Riddell struck five times, along with Kyle Clamp and Josh Dutton, to give Newhall a goal difference lead over Willington, who beat Hilton Harriers Reserves 3-0 thanks to Zachary Harrison (2) and Josh Manning.

Bargate Rovers put last week’s heavy defeat behind them with a 4-1 home win against Little Eaton Reserves. Shane Burrows, Robert Dye, Wayne Hall and George Marshall netted for Bargate, with Sam Hartshorne the Little Eaton goal scorer.
