‘Drink-driver’ under arrest after car strikes shop front
POLICE have arrested the suspected drink-driver of a Volkswagen Golf after it smashed into the front of a shop.
Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit tweeted at 12.09am yesterday “A61 Derby Road, Chesterfield. Drink driver of this Golf arrested. Photos say all that needs to be said. #Fatal4 #DontDrinkAndDrive.”
The scene was also attended by Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, which tweeted: “2339hrs #Chesterfield_Red attended an RTC involving one car [crashing] into a building on Derby Road, #Birdholme.
No persons were trapped or injured and crews made the scene safe. The incident was handed over to the police.”
