Collision leaves biker badly hurt

-

A COLLISION between a car and a motorcycle left a biker badly injured and closed one of Derby’s major roads.

Derbyshire police confirmed that they were called to the scene on London Road following reports of a “serious collision”.

The road was closed from around 11.15pm on Friday night to 4.30am Saturday.

A nearby resident said that the accident happened at 10.57pm and involved a Seat and a black motorbike, close to the former schoolhouse.

“The collision happened outside the schoolhouse and the injured person ended up outside the Premier shop,” they said.

“Ambulance workers arrived shortly afterwards.”

A cordon was set up by police and London Road was closed between the Ascot Drive roundabout and the Bateman Street junction.

It is thought the driver and passenger of the car were not injured.
