Panic!
(Inspired by the current petrol station crisis)
by Viv Wigley
And The Lord said unto Noah, “Things aren’t looking very good, I’m factory-resetting the Earth, and reformatting it with a flood.
Set out across the land, bring back the living things you find, for every creature you locate collect two of a kind.”
His children went off back and forth bringing back what they’d got, animals of every type and, boy, they bought a lot.
Flocks of sheep and herds of goats, some rats, a skulk of foxes, a rhumba of some rattlesnakes inside papyrus boxes.
Noah’s wife, Naamah, looked down and started crying,
‘My God, we only wanted two – you’ve been out panic buying!’ Japeth arrived with toilet rolls, he’d collected quite a hoard, Naamah cried “Why?”. He said ‘There’s elephants on board’.
