More than 700 Covid cases in county as four more die
ANOTHER four people have died from coronavirus in Derbyshire hospitals, according to official data.
It means that the total number of people to die in Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust hospitals has risen to 1,701.
Some 2,176 people have now succumbed to the virus in hospitals serving Derbyshire since the start of the pandemic.
Last night’s update also revealed another 783 cases had been recorded in the county in the last 24 hours. Derby once again had the highest number of cases, after 184 were recorded in the city. Amber Valley had the second highest number with 123, followed by South Derbyshire with 115.
North East Derbyshire had the fewest cases with 51.
There has now been 120,407 confirmed cases of the virus in Derbyshire. The Government said a
further 40 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Monday, bringing the UK total to 136,208.
Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have now been 160,000
deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate. As of 9am on Monday, there had been a further 37,960 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said. Data up to September 26 shows that
of the 93,500,858 Covid jabs given in the UK, 48,736,534 were first doses, a rise of 14,120 on the previous day. Some 44,764,324 were second doses, a rise of 24,851.
