‘Crisis’ in our prisons

-

A GROUP of MPs has called for root-and-branch reform of mental health support being offered in prisons.

The “crisis” behind bars will continue unless changes are made, according to the Commons Justice Committee.

Its inquiry found a “disjointed and incoherent approach” had “left many prisoners suffering from mental health issues undiagnosed and unable to access care”.
