Three from London held after bid to steal dog

-

DERBYSHIRE police have arrested three men from London following reports of an attempted dog theft in the Derbyshire Dales.

Officers were first alerted on Tuesday, September 28, to a “suspicious van” seen attempting to steal a dog in Calver.

The informant then followed the van to Eyam where police were able to intercept it and question the three people inside. When the van was searched officers got a bit of a shock when they opened up the back and found numerous barrels full of oil.

On social media, Derbyshire Dale Response Unit said: “Suspicious van seen attempting to steal a dog. Informant follows while we catch up and stop it.

“Three from London with a van full of oil. Vehicle seized and reported for offences.”

Police also later confirmed that the van was seen in “suspicious circumstances” and didn’t actually steal the dog.
