A DERBYSHIRE couple who appeared on TV show Don’t Tell The Bride have completed renovations of a house in Repton and have recently put the property up for sale.

The four-bedroom home, which overlooks Repton School, is on the market for £850,000 and was bought by Jessica and Luke Tomlinson in 2018.

The couple look set to more than double their money from the property having bought the home for £340,000.

The property also comes with a detached one-bedroom annex to the back which was the couple’s base while the renovations took place, along with their two children.

Jessica said: “We actually moved into the annex in its old form in October 2018. We moved in how it was, in the state it was in and before it looked like what it does now with the pool table and a nice open plan kitchen.

“We were kind of squidged in there with our two small children whilst we renovated the house. And then we moved into the house, we started renovating the cottage.

ence, who is five, myself and my husband, we’ve got two Siamese cats, we’ve got five chickens and up until two weeks ago, we had a fifteenyear-old lurcher as well.”

Jessica is a veterinary professor at the University of Nottingham and Luke works for Western Power.

The home comes with underfloor heating and is fitted with solar panels. It also benefits from a double-storey extension to the rear of the property.

Jessica said they initially budgeted for the renovations to cost £200,000 to £250,000, but the work has cost more than that.

She said: “I couldn’t even tell you how much we have spent on the place, it has certainly eaten away at any budget that we thought that we were going to have and we’ve exceeded that significantly that’s for sure.”

Jessica and Luke featured on the reality TV show, Don’t Tell The Bride when a previous renovation project diminished their wedding fund.

In the show, couples receive up to £14,000 to spend on their wedding but their special day must be organised entirely by the groom with no contact with the bride until their wedding day.

Jessica said: “Because of how keen Luke is on motorbikes, he was really interested in having a motorbikethemed wedding so we actually got married at Donington Park racetrack.”

The family is now wanting to find another property in Repton to take on as their next project.
