We’re much better off without EU shackles

-

FURTHER to the letter from Paul B Longbridge (“Has anyone seen any Brexit advantages?”, October 4). He is apparently unable to find one.

It all depends upon whether Mr Longbridge is happy with the German chancellor being his most influential politician. Or having laws imposed on the people of this nation for which they have no democratic means to change.

If he is happy (or not too fussed) then I agree, Brexit isn’t for him.

Clearly, in some areas employers have become hooked on cheap immigrant labour and are struggling to kick the habit.

Mr Longbridge talks us through the pain of “cold turkey” but stays

YES, we do seem to have a shortage of petrol.

Yes, we do seem to have a shortage of HGV drivers

Yes, we do seem to have a shortage of CO2.

Yes, we do seem to have an energy crisis.

Yes, we do seem to have shortages of staff.

Yes, we do seem to be losing furloughing.

Yes, we do have passport queues at airport problems.

Yes, we do seem to have price rises.

Yes, we do seem to have an underfunded NHS.

Yes, we do seem to have increases in waiting lists for hip and knee operations.

That’s life! That’s progress! That’s reality.

It would be very nice to all live in a perfect, slick-running country, but that’s not real and never will be reality.
