One of city’s busiest petrol stations closed...but not because of shortage

-

A SUPERMARKET petrol station at a busy Derby retail park is closed this week.

The Sainsbury’s petrol station at Kingsway Retail Park has temporarily shut to allow for the installation of new pay-at-the-pump facilities. There is a notice on the supermarket’s website page informing motorists that the petrol station closed until Friday.

Sainsbury’s has apologised for any inconvenience caused to motorists as a result of the temporary closure.

A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “Our Kingsway petrol filling station is temporarily closed while we install pay at pump facilities, which will give our customers more flexibility for how they shop with us. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and we’ll reopen as soon as we can.”

It was among dozens of petrol stations across the city which saw long queues as the fuel crisis hit late last month.

The petrol stations at the other Sainsbury’s supermarkets in Derby remain open, including the ones at Wyvern Retail Park and Osmaston Park in Allenton.
