Drink-drivers are banned from roads

THE following motorists were banned from the roads by Southern Derbyshire Magistrate­s’ Court for drink-driving.

■■Joshua Fearon, 26, of Richmond Road, Pear Tree, was fined £500 and was ordered to pay £300 costs, a £50 victim surcharge and was disqualifi­ed for 16 months for drink-driving in Richmond Road, Pear Tree, on July 14, 2020. He had 71 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath when the legal limit is 35.

■■Tendai Mutasa, 44, of Osmaston Park Road, was fined £500 and was ordered to pay £100 costs, a £50 victim surcharge and was disqualifi­ed for three years for drink-driving in Wilson Street, Derby, on September 13, 2020. He had 73 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath when the legal limit is 35.

■■Bogdan Dinca, 39, of Queen Street, Burton, was fined £400 and was ordered to pay £85 costs, a £40 victim surcharge and was disqualifi­ed for 12 months for drink-driving in Barton Turns, Barton Under Needwood, on August 18, 2021. He had 57 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath when the legal limit is 35.

■■Jason Smith, 49, of Ormond Street, Langley Mill, was fined £180 and was ordered to pay £310 costs, a £128 victim surcharge and was disqualifi­ed for 22 months for drink-driving in Eagle Street, Heage, on April 18, 2017. He had 64 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath when the legal limit is 35.

■■Mary Stokes, 34, of Isleworth Drive, Mackworth, was jailed for 38 weeks and was ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge and was disqualifi­ed for three years and two months for taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, drink-driving, driving while disqualifi­ed and without insurance in Friar Gate, Derby, on July 23, 2021. She had 83 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath when the legal limit is 35. The offences saw her breach a suspended sentence imposed in April for driving while disqualifi­ed in Doncaster.

■■Alexandra Hodgkinson, 52, of Alonso Close, Chellaston, was jailed for 28 days, suspended for a year and was ordered to pay £85 costs, a £128 victim surcharge and was disqualifi­ed for four years for drink-driving on the M6 in Charnock, Lancashire, on August 7, 2021. She had 61 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath when the legal limit is 35.
