Mum’s horror as girl ‘nearly abducted’

-

A MUM claims her one-year-old daughter was nearly abducted from a park in a “terrifying” incident.

Kymberley Stanton-Croft was in Queen Elizabeth Park, Stapleford, with her friend and her son and twin daughters on September 22.

She says that, at around 5pm, one of her daughters ran towards a group of boys playing football.

It was then that Kymberley says her other daughter went out of sight for just a second.

Ms Stanton-Croft said: “I told her to come back as the boys were playing football. Eliza [her other daughter] was next to me with her bunny – she takes it everywhere – when I went to get my other daughter.

“I turned back and said ‘where is Eliza?’ I noticed she was at the bottom of the hill holding this woman’s hand. My friend stood up and ran to her and she put her arms up straight away. She came back up to me and the woman disappeared – I had no idea where she had come from. I tried to find where she had gone, she could have been anywhere and I had no idea where to look. It was absolutely terrifying. I kept running through what could have happened in my head – but you can’t do that. You would drive yourself mad.”

Police say they are investigating and have increased patrols in the area.
