Inquest into death of woman, aged 40
A DERBY woman who suffered from a chronic pain condition, died after taking a number of drugs, an inquest heard.
Helen Mannering, 40, from Breadsall, was said to have been suffering from fibromyalgia and also bipolar disorder, when she died in June 2019.
Fibromyalgia is a long-term condition that can often cause pain and sensitivity all over the body.
An inquest, opened on October 4 at Derby Coroner’s Court, found that Mrs Mannering died from “mixed drug toxicity”.
Peter Nieto, area coroner for Derby and Derbyshire, said: “The reason I’m opening an inquest for Helen Mannering is because of the information provided to me I have reason to suspect that her death was not a natural causes death. That is because following post-mortem examination and toxicology, a cause of death has been proposed by the toxicologist as mixed drug toxicity, fibromyalgia and bipolar disorder.”
The inquest has been adjourned for further inquiries to take place.
