Police seize pizza wheels from driver

-

TAKEAWAY deliveries in a Derbyshire town were interrupted this week when a pizza delivery driver’s car was seized by police.

Members of the Alfreton Police Safer Neighbourhood Team have explained why food may have been late or simply not arrived on Monday evening.

It turns out that they intercepted at pizza delivery driver who did not have a valid driver’s licence and seized their car.

There was speculation in the comments on the Alfreton SNT’s social media post that perhaps the perpetrator was carrying a pizza with pineapple on it, which some suggested was a crime in itself.

But the police confirmed the reason for the removal of the car was down to a lack of driving licence.

In a Facebook post they said: “If you are still awaiting your pizza delivery from last night, it may have been because your delivery driver had no licence to drive”.

“To stop him from potentially killing somebody whilst regularly driving around the Alfreton area we took his car”.
