Police investigating crash between car and motorcycle
POLICE have launched an investigation into a crash that shut a busy road.
Officers are looking into the circumstances of the collision involving a car and a motorbike near Longdon Park School, on the A5132 between Egginton and Etwall on Saturday.
The incident happened just before 2pm.
An eye-witness said they had seen someone being treated by paramedics on a stretcher at the scene.
The road was closed for more than two hours while vehicle recovery took place, reopening around 4.30pm.
A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesman said: “There was an accident between a car and a motorbike. The circumstances remain under investigation.
“The motorcyclist was taken to hospital for examination.
“Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.”
The eye-witness said on Saturday: “There has clearly been a bad accident and several emergency vehicles are at the scene.
“The road is closed in both directions and traffic is being turned around and diverted through Etwall. My thoughts are with those involved.”
