SCENES FROM A MARRIAGE
Sky Atlantic, 9pm
ITV, 2pm
Bling is king in this fun new daytime show, which sees Gok Wan and a team of experts solve people’s jewellery needs.
It’s a one-stop shop as bespoke pieces are made, heirlooms are restored, and eye-catching items are bought and sold. Jumping on the success of hit shows like The Repair Shop, expect emotive stories and heartwarming reveals.
In the first episode, Jess visits expert Nikki on the Make counter with an heirloom she’s inherited that’s in need of a tricky transformation. It’s a brooch given to her from her great-grandmother, but she’d like to turn it into a necklace.
Elsewhere, Lance on the Fix counter helps Emma, who has a pocket watch in need of a makeover.
A remake of Ingmar Bergman’s 1973 relationship drama, this modern take stars Jessica Chastain and Oscar Isaac as the couple under scrutiny.
They play Mira and Jonathan, married for 10 years with a young daughter, who are clearly not completely happy. As it starts, they are being interviewed by a woman writing a paper on gender roles. She’s particularly interested in them as their gender roles are flipped.
But Mira is extremely uncomfortable and distracted. Both feel the need to defend their roles and relationship. And after a tense day of reflection and opening up, the couple must navigate the consequences of unexpected news.
A classy depiction of love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage and divorce.
