ALONE AGAIN, BUT WITH AN EP ALREADY OUT, VARDY ALSO HAS A NEW SINGLE...

-

BELPER singer-songwriter Vardy has poured his heart and soul into a new EP, Pandemonium 555, which is now available through various online platforms, including Spotify, writes Colston Crawford.

Daniel James Vardy, to give him his full name, describes himself as “delivering insightful and humorous indiepunk ditties, all accentuated with a dark East Midlands accent.”

For a while, 18 months or so ago, he was Vardy & The Wilhelm Screamers, a collaboration with bass player Sam Hubball, but the pair have gone their separate ways and Vardy is back out there, with just his guitar for company.

The seven-track EP “is a roller coaster of anger, pain and confusion – all emotions perpetuated by the modern world that emphasise Vardy’s own suffering with mental health, addiction, and his struggles with ADHD.

“Pandemonium is defined as a place with chaos, noise and confusion.”

“555 is a message from your angels that it is time to let go of the ‘old’ that is no longer positively serving you. Release old doubts, fears and perceived obstacles and if feeling any fears or confusion, ask for support and guidance from your angels.”

If you think that sounds all too depressing, think again. The songs are catchy and beautifully played, especially new single Let It Go, about mental health, released on October 29.

The EP has been featured on BBC Radio 6 music on Tom Robinsons mixtape, Dean Jackson’s BBC Introducing, and Planet Rock. Listen here: www.vardyukmusic.com
