There is eye-popping carnage in this Marvel Comics sequel. However, a barrage of dizzying digital effects coupled with a shortage of originality in action sequences condemns Venom: Let There Be Carnage to the realms of the distinctly average.
Investigative journalist Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) shares his body with Venom – an extra-terrestrial parasite – which gifts him incredible powers.
He visits imprisoned serial killer Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson)
before a planned execution. The inmate bites Eddie and part of Venom courses into the killer’s body, giving birth to the symbiote Carnage.
Cletus agrees to work with Carnage to break out and eliminate Venom.
Eddie must team up with Detective Patrick Mulligan (Stephen Graham) to eliminate this new threat.
