Quantuma ask for more patience
DERBY County administrators have appealed for patience over the search for new owners for the club.
The Rams have been in administration since September and, on Christmas Eve, the Quantuma group announced they expected to name the preferred bidder for the club “imminently”.
That announcement, however, is still to be made. A consortium led by former Derby chairman Andy Appleby is understood to have made one of two bids under consideration.
The lack of update has led to questions being asked by some Rams fans over the time it is taking.
One of the club’s supporters’ groups, Black and White Together, spoke to the administrators to ask for the latest information.
“Quantuma have advised BAWT that progress has continued to be made over the Christmas period and they remain as confident as they were previously,” the group wrote on social media. “Quantuma said the news everyone wants may still be possible over the next few days, are sorry they can’t yet say anything more definitive, but ask fans to remain patient for a little longer. “Quantuma have agreed to give more details on the hold-up and the effects of it, if the news we all want is not forthcoming in the next few days.”
The administrators gave their own update regarding the potential sale of players in January amid reports they have turned down bids for two players.
According to John Percy of the Daily Telegraph, Quantuma have rejected bids for Lee Buchanan and Louie Sibley.
“Whilst we can’t guarantee there will be no player sales, we’re committed to maintaining the quality and integrity of the squad to enable it to continue to compete in the division,” read the Quantuma statement.
