PUTIN vs Jesus. It might seem a strange comparison, but how does President Putin contrast to Jesus?

Putin wasn’t content with driving taxis, but was driven by ambition to get to the top.

Jesus had a desire to serve, and was content to be a carpenter’s son until the right time.

Putin came to power through elections widely thought to be rigged. Jesus stepped off a heavenly throne and made Himself part of a lowly family.

Putin has done all he can to control his image in the media. Jesus was unashamed to be seen with those everyone else tried to avoid. Putin wants to cling to power for as long as he can. Jesus submitted to Father God’s authority.

Putin presides over the largest country in the world, yet still wants more land. Jesus reigns, not over physical territory, but leads the greatest movement on earth.

Putin seeks to control everything around him, making everyone believe and obey. Jesus knew who He was, and gave people a choice whether to follow.

Putin surrounds himself with ‘yes’ men, who will tell him what he wants to hear. Jesus chose a ragtag team even though He knew they would sometimes fail and even desert Him.

Putin doesn’t care who he climbs over to reach his goals. Jesus helps to raise others up, even at great personal cost.

Putin is using lies and distortions to justify heinous crimes. Jesus is the truth, and shines a light on all falsehoods.

Putin is denying doing anything wrong. Jesus had no need to defend Himself against false accusations. Putin claims to be the hero. Jesus let the evidence speak for itself.

Putin may have overestimated the strength of his army. Jesus had legions of angels to call on, yet chose not to use them.

Putin might think he can win through force. Jesus has already won through humility.

Putin is destroying those he claims to be liberating. Jesus destroyed death, to truly set people free.

Putin wants to reclaim the past, which everyone else is glad to leave behind. Jesus promises a future that far exceeds anything we could possibly imagine.
