No trains between Derby and Matlock during weekend maintenance

-

ALL trains between Derby and Matlock will be suspended over the coming weekend due to scheduled engineering works.

Replacement bus services will run in place of East Midlands Railway train services on Saturday, July 9, and Sunday, July 10.

The news means no trains will run from the stations along the route, which are Duffield, Belper,

Ambergate, Whatstandwell, Cromford and Matlock Bath. Trains between Nottingham and Derby will still run.

Buses running from both Derby and Matlock will leave at the same advertised times as the normal train services. The bus journey will take one hour and seven minutes, compared to 32 minutes on the train.

Replacement buses will drop off and collect passengers from the following locations:

Ambergate: The bus stops outside the Hurt Arms on the A6

Belper: On the A6, either outside or opposite the Lion Hotel

Cromford: On the A6 crossroad, about two thirds of a mile from the station

Duffield: The station car park at the junction of Station Road and Station Approach

Matlock: In Bay 4 of the bus station (located next to the station)

Matlock Bath (Matlock-bound): On the main road around the corner (turn left out of car park)

Matlock Bath (Derby-bound): On the main road (turn right out of car park)

Whatstandwell: At the bus stop by the station entrance

A train ticket must be purchased prior to travelling on a rail replacement bus, and compensation can be claimed if a bus is significantly delayed beyond the temporary timetable. All service information ahead of the upcoming engineering works can be found on the EMR website or by checking station signs.
