AFTER bowling Sawley out for 148, Division One leaders Cutthorpe eased to a rain-revised target of 124 in 37 overs with 11 balls to spare.

Jacob Deavin-Baker took 5-26 in 10.2 overs to end Sawley’s knock, in which Tom Beresford scored 51.

Hashen Ramanayake’s 65 not out from 74 balls ensured few alarms for Cutthorpe in a sevenwicket win and they are now 15 points ahead after second-placed Rolleston lost a tight, rainaffected game at home to Ilkeston Rutland.

Put in, they were in all kinds of trouble against Franklin Henshaw (4-32) and Rob Green (3-31) as they slid to 47-7, with four wickets falling for one run.

Alex Britton dug in to make 45 not out from 74 balls and Daryn Smit went in at number 10 to hit 48 from 38 balls.

He and Britton added 76 for the ninth wicket and Rolleston reached 167 all out.

Rain revised Ilkeston’s target to 152 from 40 overs and although they reached 69 without losing a wicket, four then fell while two more runs were added, Smit taking 3-17 from nine overs.

For Ilkeston, it was George Moulds who dug in as Britton had, making 38 not out and eventually getting his side over the line with eight wickets down and four balls to spare.

Nine points back in third are

Dunstall, who got back on track with a comfortable win over Clifton at Deer Park.

Ben Whitehouse made 63 and Callum Brodrick 44 as Dunstall’s innings was cut short by the weather at 169-6 from 37.3 overs.

The calculation for the restart gave Clifton a bigger target, 193 from 37 overs, but that proved academic.

Opening bowler George Martin ripped into Clifton by taking 4-17 from eight overs and there was to be no way back from 28-6.

Tom Hill and Taylor Millington took two wickets each as the visitors were bowled out for 72.

Struggling Elvaston took their first win of the season when they shot out Morton Colliery for 62.

It had been another poor display with the bat by Elvaston, bowled out for 113, in which Jack Blaver and Matt Archer made 21 each.

Paul Holmes also made 21 for Morton but with Blaver and Charlie Hobbs taking three wickets each, theirs was a sorry procession in 22.5 overs.

Wirksworth & Middleton edged past Duffield by 12 runs after being bowled out for 161, in which Pradeep Chanditha scored 47

Duffield were bowled out for 149, Harsha Vithana taking 5-22 to go with his 40 runs.

South Wingfield’s 221, in which Sam Colclough made 46 not out, was 14 too many for Chesterfield as Tony Palladino and Kyle Mitchell took three wickets each in the reply.
