The Nines hoping to become as loved as predecessor at city cafe spot

-

EAGLE-EYED Derby locals will have noticed some new signage at the site of a beloved city centre cafe.

Signs that read ‘“The Nines” have been put up at the site of the former Caffè Grazia on London Road, next to Derbion, ahead of a summer grand opening.

A spokesperson for the new establishment confirmed that it will be a “family-friendly” restaurant with outdoor seating that hopes to serve a high-quality menu, which has been carefully designed by a team of experts.

The restaurant will be an alcoholfree zone and smoking will not be permitted on the outside tables, with hopes of turning The Nines into an enjoyable site where families can eat out carefree.

As for the menu - which is currently under wraps as it goes through the testing process - it will have a wide variety of “international fusion” dishes, a unique culinary trend that combines the flavours of different regions and cultures to create innovative new dishes. The Nines is expected to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner from the new site, which apparently will “undergo a major transformation” before it opens in a few months.

A spokesperson for The Nines said: “We’ve put so much work into this new place and we cannot wait to open our doors. We are just a group of friends who have always dreamed about opening a restaurant together - and we’re going to make it the best it can be.

“We’ve hired Masterchef winners and culinary experts to craft our brand-new menu and we really hope to bring something special to the city centre, which is lacking when it comes to high-quality eateries. We want to support Derby’s economy and hire staff from the local area and we have a busy couple of months ahead of us before the grand opening.”

The menu is designed by Maurizio Ferraiuolo, a guest judge on MasterChef Malaysia and personal chef for a number of celebrities. He has been hired by the team to delivery an unique and extensive menu that is sure to attract foodlovers - particularly some of Maurizio’s 50,000-plus followers on Instagram.

Ahead of The Nines’ opening, which is currently on track for the beginning of June, the team will be adding the finishing touches and posting updates onto its social media.
