Derbyshire Life - - News -

The National Trust and Derbyshire Ornithological Society (DOS) have announced that a juvenile red kite has been reared in the county at Kedleston Hall for the first time since 1863. Once a common sight, kites were nearly extinct by the 1950s but have been successfully reintroduced in various areas since 1989. The well-managed wood pasture parkland habitat at Kedleston is known as a haven for wildlife.
