Spring into autumn

Derbyshire Life - - Homes & Interiors -

October is such an inspiring and evocative time with leaves glinting in the cool, crisp air, almost electric with seasonal change, and with fruit trees and vegetables having their last hurrah. Until the clocks go back on the 28th there’s enough evening light to potter outside and put the tired parts of the garden to bed. That said, October isn’t about shutting up shop. The month marks the beginning of next year’s growing season as perennials and trees planted now will establish all the better, and if you snap up stocks of bulbs while nurseries still have the widest range your garden will have swathes of effortless colour come spring.
