The decorations for the grand house at Kedleston this Christmas are inspired by the birds of Kedleston, with each Christmas tree inside the hall telling the story of a wonderful winged friend. Visitors will discover the beautiful birds of Kedleston – including robins, peacocks and owls – as they wander around the impressive state rooms.
There are also Christmas crafts to try, such as willow weaving and lantern making. Then there are winter walks outside and sherry and mince pie tours inside the house.
Open on various dates in December, see www. nationaltrust.org.uk/ kedleston-hall for details. Kedleston, nr Derby
