Until 9th December
Tarpey Gallery at 77 High Street, Castle Donington, is showing ‘Other Places’ by Lois Wallace, a contemporary painter who trained at the Slade School of Art. These new paintings ‘have evolved through an interest in the Northern European Romantic tradition, where the landscape can be seen as a metaphor for the human condition.’ They are painted with oils on unprimed copper, giving them a lustrous glow.
Lois’ work can be found in private collections around the world. Until 2017 she was Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at Birmingham School of Art. Open Thurs–sun 10am-5pm.
